Social sites have become very popular. Many of us use a social site to stay in touch with family and friends. These sites include Facebook, Myspace, Friendster,Twitter, Imeem, Hi-5 and so on. There is a lot of social site nowadays and each of them have its own advantages and functions. Facebook is general, Flixster are for movie sharing, Flickr much more to photo sharing and photography related networking. Twitter has become a very popular site not only for keeping up with friend, but for advertising as well. Generally all social site allows peole who would not normally stay in touch to be able to and acces informations and pictures about one another.
Before the social networking sites exist, it was difficult to meet other internet users. You would have to rely on chat rooms, instant messaging services and communicate via email. As nice as these popular internet features are, they are not always considered safe. We just have took it on faith that other people were being honest.
Social networking websites allow us to meet people that share the same or similar interests in hobbies, religion, or politics. Most social networking websites allow you to create your own profile and even give you your own webpage. These profiles or pages will allow you to share information about yourself, including your likes and dislikes, hobbies and education.
The most popular social sites nowadays is Facebook. Facebook has a number of software functions that appeal to us such as posting one's profile, uploading pictures, finding and adding friend links, and scores of applications. It is also easy to use, example editing one's profile, sending messages, adding groups and it is highly accessible for all people around the world. The most frequent things that people do on facebook were to check on friends status, join or participate in groups and to message thier friends.
The new applications make facebook not just a way to connect but also fun. What is more interesting that we can tag a picture to our friend and put a comment there. So everyone that become your friend member also can read and put a comment to the picture. So you can interact with a large number of group and indirectly you can also get to know your friends member.
The friends that you can make are just one of the many benefits to social networking online. Another one of those benefits includes diversity because the internet gives individuals from all around the world access to social networking sites. This means that although you are in Malaysia, you could develop an online friendship with someone in Denmark. Not only will you make new friends, but you just might learn a thing or two about new cultures or new languages and learning is always a good thing.
It is also good to join the social network because you can find your old friend and new friend easily by the link from the mutual friend you got.
We also can acquire a wide range of knowledge and latest information or issues. The Facebook can be linked to a news, blog and any websites. So that we can share any information to all our friend. Many of us also use social sites to keep in touch with business contacts and network to compose or further our careers. By social sites, we can promote our company, our business and it is easier to invite your friend to join any events, programme or religious talk that you organize. What many people may not realize is that social sites can also be used to change the world, or at least make it a better place.
Besides that there were also politicians, singer or actors use these social sites to create a fan site so that they could communicate with their fans and promoting themselves. Indirectly,they would know how many supporters they got.

As we know, from social networking like facebook, we can get lots of benefits.Now, I just want to share about my experience had I got two weeks ago. Recently, on 31 January 2010, I went to RTM Angkasapuri in Kuala Lumpur for one event with Deputy of Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.You know, what interesting thing from this event is our Deputy of Prime Minister also like to make facebook as one of way he interact with the people around of the world.Its become more interesting when he got a good feedback from students Malaysia in oversea. Other than that, until today approximately 7 million and above already register as he fan club.His club is MY Facebook Club whereas MY stand for his own name Muhyiddin Yassin namely “http://www.facebook.com/muhyiddinyassin”. From this section, what benefit we can get is full profile about her from his education, family and also his career. We also can know what the current issues about politics in Malaysia, collection their speech, gallery pictures, video and much more. This section also can make people express their opinion or complaint about something they want to speak out to government because many links to other main ministry website. So, what I want to say is from social networking, we also can become more closer with our minister.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, I also want to share where in Kosmo newspaper had I read on 15 february in front page is article about “Tun Mahathir is the most famous in facebook” compare with other artist like Fara Fauzana, Scha Al-Yahya and also Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. In this article, Tun Mahathir is on first ranking and he have 232 205 followers and second ranking is Fara Fauzana whereas she have 181 943 followers and Scha Al-Yahya have 145 302 followers in facebook. This rank is based on the ranking only in Malaysia. So, here, what I want to conclude is that facebook is one of the network becomes a crucial medium for people to interact and get the latest information from within or outside the country regardless of any society.

For example, through the facebook i can meet my old friend that have been not met for a long time since the secondary school or primary school.so, with this social networking we can know the latest development from each other.
beside that, through this social network, we also can sharing our opinion and discuss about some other thing.
Hi Nazirah. In your last comment, what I can say is, I agree with your view about the use facebook that enables us to connect and share information with other friends. For example, I now stay at the hostel and I have joined the club that is here. What is interesting is how we communicate information among members as an example of the coming meeting or activities will be held and others only through facebook. Here we can see how information could be delivered quickly to indirectly save time students that they can use to make their lessons revision or others. In fact, the situation has been made at present all individuals should have their own facebook account.
ReplyDeleteWhat I expect is, at the later time is possible students will no longer meet their friends to discuss their assignments because they all prefer to choose a virtual talk among themselves without having to go out to any. Do you agree with my opinion?

ReplyDeletebut i think ,its still not very effective to dicuss assignment in a virtual world because we are not meeting face to face..of course we are not really paying attention to that discussion matter..
moreover,if it is about personal things or love matter..of course,its not interesting if we just discuss through virtual talk..
we still want to meet each other's so it is much easier to understand each other by looking through the face,reading the body gestures and so on..although he or she doesnt speaks a word..haha..actions speaks louder than words..rights??

I agree with you about the matter, but look to the advancement of technology in nowadays, we know that through social networking, we can stay in touch with someone without having to confront them. This is because, we know that in social networking user facilities are given to make voice call and video call, in which a person can talk and see what they look like friends to contact. Not through the way we have been able also to see a person face. As you say, face the individual is able to describe feelings.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, through social networking is also not impossible that someone could create a closer relationship with other individuals, such as examples of love relationships. This is because at here we are also able to see how many people who love their relationship, which began only through this virtual talk. We see around us only situation in which many individuals that have a special friend who is not from Malaysia, but they choose friends from overseas. In fact this has become such a trend include as examples of the artists themselves.
Here I just want to get explanation on two things. First, whether the relationship is long distance it is impossible to be created only because the individual is often difficult to confront the factor distance exists between them? Next, if you want to see about privacy if it is less secure connection through the virtual pages, the extent is the individual in relation to people confront their privacy is secure?
